Xunantunich's name means "Maiden of the Rock" in the Mayan language, and is an ancient archaeological site in western Belize, about 100 kmwest of Belize City, in the Cayo District.
The coffee estate is located inside the Laguna Seca private natural reserve in cayo. There is absolutely no logging on property and re-planting of trees by staff is done annually. They focus on reducing, rescuing, recycaling, conserving water and electricity wherever possible
In 2021, Gallon Jug Estate partnered with more than a dozen other organizations to protect the Belize Maya Forest, 236,000 acres of rich biodiversity and home to hundreds of endangered species such as the jaguar.
